Praise be Allah, Who has adorned the aspect of man by granting him good stature and proportion, Safeguarding him from increase and decline in his aspect and measurements, We ask for His forgiveness and guidance, We seek refuge from the evils, which are in ourselves and the wicked in our actions, And may the blessings and salutations be invoked upon Muhammad, His Prophet (??? ???? ???? ? ???).
To proceed:
"As for whoever exceeded the limits and preferred the life of this world, surely his abode will be the Fire; and as for whoever feared to stand before his Lord and restrained the desires of his self, surely his abode will be the Garden." (Sura 79:39-40)

This is a collection of important Qur'anic verses and Ahadith which have been compiled and presented to form a short book on dhikr (remembrance)
Etiquette of Dhikr
Dhikr is not only limited to words; repentance is dhikr, reflection is dhikr, seeking knowledge is dhikr, seeking lawful provisions (provided that the intention is correct) is dhikr and generally, every lawful act during which the presence of Allah is felt is dhikr. For dhikr to bear fruit, the following etiquettes of dhikr should be observed:
i) Humility, sobriety and pondering over the meanings of the dhikr and the du'a.
ii) Lowering one's voice as much as possible so as not to disturb others but at the same time one must be completely awake. As Allah says: "And remember your Lord by your tongue and within yourself, humbly and with fear without loudness in words in the mornings, and in the afternoons and be not of those who are neglectful."
Is this a Warning of worse to come? Why the Earthquake in Pakistan? Oedipus the King was the Cause of the Sickness in Thebes: A CIA Agent Rules#Islamabad, mocking Islam by Kaukab Siddique, Ph.D
I was numbed by the news pouring in from Pakistan. My usual way to understand such tragedies is to take refuge in my 21st century rational/empirical self. These things happen owing to the rules of physics and the contours of geography, I told myself, and all we can do is to write checks, help the survivors, and work for improved health and transportation facilities.
Somehow, I could not rest content with the explanation offered by my cynical, americanized self. So, I asked a sage. The answer I got was lengthy but I will summarize his main points here:
A 'Tabi came to the house of Aisha (??? ???? ????) and said O mother of the believers, tell us about earthquakes, Aisha (??? ???? ????) said anytime zina (fornication) becomes rife and a lot of wine is drunk, consumed, and musical instruments becomes rife, singing girls, the earth rebels against the crimes that are being committed on top of her so she shakes and causes buildings to tumble down and swallow the people up so the Tabi said how are we supposed to interpret this (i.e. natural disasters earthquakes), she said a punishment for the disbelievers and a reminder to the believers, so in these times with events like these happening around us we are supposed to take lesson as it is a sign of Allah and RETURN to our deen. (Natural Disasters by Shaikh Faisal)
Islam being the chosen and true religion of Allah has always had tremendous influence on its people and followers no matter where it went. It produced geniuses of its people and followers, physicians, jurists, astronomer, inventors, and great mathematicians. They reached all heights, broke all frontiers, and flourished in all fields. They came from all nations but their religion remained one.
One such hero was Salmaan al-Farisiy who came from Persia, where he had acquired experience in warfare and its tactics. So on the day of Al-Khandaq (the trench) in the year 5th of hijri when the polytheists came one last time with twenty four thousand fighters to finish off Prophet Muhammad (??? ???? ???? ? ???) and his companions, Salmaan proposed to dig a trench around Al-Madinah, which was first done ever in the Arabian peninsula.

The Milli Gazette (online edition)
One day during my detention by the Taliban I was asked about where I was born and, out to impress my captors, I said I came from the tribal areas of England near the Scottish Border. I was desperate to get them to sympathise and identify with me, in the hope this would make it difficult for them to kill me.
So, clutching at this latest straw I told them I was not really English but a Geordie ... a tribal dweller from the north. Since most of them were Pashtuns, they nodded in approval and were quite amused to discover that the UK had its own tribal areas and its own version of Pashtun-like people. That is basically where the favourable comparisons ended because their beautiful, dramatic Afghan countryside is nothing like my home town Stanley, in County Durham … a bleak little backwater in the boondocks of Britain.
"The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The world is prison for the believer, and Paradise for the disbeliever." (Muslim)

A really thought provokeing statment from Imam Abdul Malik's talk 'Pathway to peace and Justice'
The orginal is: I am Salafi they are Sunni... but now its: I am Sunni they are Salafi (click on highlighted text to download)
The first is advise to the pseudo (extreme) Salafis and the second is advise to the pseudo (extreme) Sufis and narrow minded peeps hiding on the net and forums under 'traditional' prefixes, it's some really golden advise that will go down in Islamic history, lots of us woke up to it when the divide and conquer people invaded our lands and stabbed you in the back while you were debating and ripping each others heads off and now we have our brothers from each group united against the 'dived and conquer people' working to make that change, whilst the rest still debating can be seen by the whole world for the kawarij they are.
As we look at the life’s of the Prophet (??? ???? ???? ? ???) and his companions we learn that in this life we live, there is no real sense of Justice there is and there is no real sense of Peace, as men of law define peace and justice.
The real justice comes on the day of resurrection when each and every one of us has to stand before the master of judges who has a perfect calculation of everything we did and did not do. Who knows the things we did openly and the things we did secretly, where on that day you cannot fool Allah ?????? ? ?????. There won’t be any lawyers (liars) to represent you, your only representation on that day is your faith and your good deeds that’s what represents you and the justice that we seek as Muslims it is a justice that is balanced with mercy.
